About Us & Our Approach

Established in 2024, Connections Recovery Cafe is a program of Rural Resources Community Action. We are part of a national network of Recovery Cafes with evidence of success from peer-to-peer support and clubhouse models.

Learn more about the Recovery Café Network here.

Recovery Cafe staff are Rural Resources employees, many of whom have lived experience with addictions or substance use disorder and are on their own recovery journey. Through the Cafe, members also have access to Rural Resources’ wraparound services like employment assistance, housing and rental assistance, Victim Services, and other programs. We can connect members to external partners and service providers through mental and physical health referrals or other guidance.

The Recovery Cafe model aligns with the following approaches:

Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)-Aligned Approach

Our programs incorporate SAMHSA’s ten components of successful recovery, focusing on empowerment, holistic care, peer support, and fostering hope.

Recovery-Oriented System of Care (ROSC)

Our model meets individuals at every stage of their recovery journey, promoting lifelong health management and personal empowerment through community support and holistic care.

Continuous Support

Unlike crisis-driven approaches, we provide ongoing support across all phases of recovery, empowering individuals to manage their health, maintain sobriety, build community, and reclaim their identities.
